BLEOMYCIN-TEVA POWDER FOR SOLUTION FOR INJECTION

Dosage:
For intramuscular, subcutaneous, intrapleural and intravenous injection/infusion. Because of the possibility of an anaphylactoid reaction, lymphoma patients should be treated with 2 units or less for the first two doses. If no acute reaction occurs, then the regular dosage schedule may be followed. When used in combination with other antineoplastic agents, pulmonary toxicities may occur at a lower dose. 
Squamous Cell Carcinoma, non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Testicular Carcinoma:10-20 units/m² (0.25-0.50 units/kg), given intramusculary, intravenously, or subcutaneously weekly or twice weekly. 
Hodgkin's Disease: 10-20 units/m² (0.25-0.50 units/kg), given intramusculary, intravenously, or subcutaneously weekly or twice weekly. After a 50% response, a maintenance dose of 1 unit daily or 5 units weekly intramuscularly, intravenously or subcutaneously should be given. 
Malignant Pleural Effusion: 60 units administered as a single dose bolus intrapleural injection. See prescribing information for full details.

Indications:
Management of the following neoplasms: Squamous cell carcinoma affecting the mouth, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses, larynx, esophagus, cervix, vagina, penis and skin. Hodgkin's disease and other malignant lymphomas, including mycosis fungoides. Testicular carcinoma (seminoma and no seminoma). Malignant effusions of serous cavities (intrapleural). Secondary indications in which bleomycin has been shown to be of some value include: Metastatic malignant melanoma, carcinoma of the thyroid, lung and bladder. Local treatment of refractory warts. Can be used in combination with other cytotoxics and/or with radiation therapy.
Contra-Indications:
Patients who have demonstarted a hypersensitivity or an idiosyncratic reaction to bleomycin, or in case of known hypersensitivity to any other ingredient of the preparation.
